Is your county one of the counties listed to be in non-attainment?

The U.S. EPA released information this week showing a number of counties – 243 to be exact – that will be in non-attainment with federal PM 2.5 (or soot) air quality standards by 2005. This is a very significant jump in the number of counties recommended to the EPA earlier this year (see page 2). Please read the following page for more information on this pressing issue.

WHAT TO DO?
The HPBA needs detailed information from its members regarding concerns. HPBA staff is working with EPA on a number of woodburning issues and this will certainly provide more opportunities for us to provide industry input.
